This is an introduction to the world of competitive swimming. Emphasis is placed on the fundamentals: body position, stroke mechanics, starts & turns. Some conditioning and endurance training will also occur. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters of freestyle and 25 meters of backstroke and an understanding of the breaststroke and butterfly kick to enroll. Swimmers in this group need to be at practice a minimum of two days per week, with three days per week strongly suggested.
